poRiff - pop & ecology walfare product

Give plastic bag a second life!

This is a crossover project with the Japanese brand - poRiff, the creator of pop & ecology welfare products in Osaka, Japan. It is driven by a social mission. poRiff produces eco-friendly products made from used plastic shopping bags in Japan ranging from tote bag, wallet, card holder and keychain. The production process is carried out by two supporting organisations in Osaka. The collection of plastic bags, the fusing process, and the sewing are all done by people with disabilities. The product is waterproof, colourful and every pattern on each product is unique.

Poriff is an Atelier E commercial project — shaped by the RARE principle, material honesty, and a sequential journey-of-discovery spatial experience.

Material choices prioritise honesty and provenance — timber, stone, metal, and crafted junctions that support both guest experience and long-term use.

A completed interior for Poriff that embodies Atelier E’s craft-led approach and extends the studio’s portfolio across hospitality, residential, and commercial work.
