artwork for the international design furniture fair - "turnaround bright eye"

We were invited to restyle and to recreate the “Glass Design – Luna 45 Basin” for the first International Design Furniture Fair (IDFFHK) hosted in Hong Kong.

The original basin was a form like 1/3 of the moon, we attached an illuminated acrylic sphere onto the basin to complete a lunar eclipse shape sitting on a clock that indicates the time of the upcoming Penumbral Lunar Eclipse visible in Hong Kong, March 23, 2016, 17:39.

Completed in 2015

Turnaround Bright Eye

Turnaround Bright Eye is an Atelier E commercial project — shaped by the RARE principle, material honesty, and a sequential journey-of-discovery spatial experience.

Client: Turnaround Bright Eye · Year: 2020 · Location: Hong Kong

Challenge

Create a distinctive commercial environment for Turnaround Bright Eye that balances brand narrative, operational needs, and refined detailing without stylistic noise.

RARE application

Redefinition of the default brief into a clearer experiential problem; Adaptation to site, brand, and operational constraints; Representation of client identity through material and light; Elimination of excess so the journey of discovery stays legible.

Material story

Material choices prioritise honesty and provenance — timber, stone, metal, and crafted junctions that support both guest experience and long-term use.

Outcome

A completed interior for Turnaround Bright Eye that embodies Atelier E’s craft-led approach and extends the studio’s portfolio across hospitality, residential, and commercial work.
